Heel Counter Placement & Initial Lasting – Structural Transition Phase

In the previous stage, the heel counter reinforcement was activated with solution to soften and shape it properly. This video documents the transition from structural preparation to active lasting.

Process Breakdown with Key Moments

00:00 – Adhesive is applied between the lining and the leather upper, creating the bonding surface for heel reinforcement.

00:08 – The softened heel counter is positioned precisely inside the heel structure, aligned carefully between lining and upper.

00:18 – Final alignment checks ensure correct height, center balance, and structural symmetry.

00:28 – The repaired woven section is examined once more to confirm structural stability before tension is applied.

00:40 – The upper is pulled onto the last. Controlled force begins shaping the rear structure.

00:52 – The first securing nails are driven in. This marks the transition from preparation to structural forming.

01:02 – The heel area is stabilized, defining rigidity, alignment accuracy, and long-term durability.

Why This Stage Is Critical

The heel counter controls rear-foot stability. Incorrect placement can cause imbalance. Improper bonding can weaken long-term durability.

The first nails lock the upper into position, setting the foundation for precise lasting and final form shaping.
