Side Panel Adjustment & Structural Nailing | Women’s Woven Shoe Production
Controlled Side Panel Adjustment & Structural Forming – Woven Upper Lasting
In this stage, the woven leather upper is carefully adjusted along the side panels using pliers. Because woven leather is flexible, controlled tension is essential to prevent distortion and structural imbalance.
Process Breakdown with Key Moments
00:00 – The side panels are pulled gradually using pliers. Tension is applied in small, controlled movements to avoid stressing the woven structure.
00:12 – Two securing nails are placed on the intentionally extended lining section beneath the tongue area. This prevents the upper from sliding downward on the last during forming.
00:26 – The raised decorative seam on the front panel is aligned carefully. Proper positioning ensures that the face of the shoe remains symmetrical.
00:40 – Controlled nailing secures the decorative seam. Due to the flexibility of woven leather, precise anchoring defines the final shape.
00:55 – The collar and side edges are refined and adjusted for balance and clean alignment.
01:10 – Final securing nails are placed to stabilize the structure and lock the form in position.
Why This Stage Is Critical
Woven leather reacts differently than solid leather sheets. Every nail placement contributes to:
- Shape stability
- Structural integrity
- Long-term durability
- Surface symmetry
Without controlled adjustment, the upper could distort, shift downward, or lose its intended silhouette.
All production is completed fully in-house inside our footwear workshop.
